Under the slogan "Ideas worth spreading", on Friday 20 May this year be held in our province the TEDx Tucumán 2011, a series of lectures where a dozen local and national keynote speakers lecture on various topics of interest. The appointment will be in the Orestes Caviglia.
The concept TED (Technology, Entertainment and Design) emerged in the early 80's in the United States in 1984, had his first experience as a meeting place for innovators and leaders in the fields mentioned above.
Thus, TED manages to gather each year in the U.S. the most prominent thinkers, ideologues and entrepreneurs on the planet. To gauge the ability to call and the importance of this lecture, just to name only a handful of "speakers" who left their mark, namely, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono.
The success was such that, over the years the format was replicated in different parts of the world to land on what we know TEDx. What is the difference with his predecessor? The spirit is similar, except that local events TEDx are self-managed, non-profit organization that combines videos of TED and live chats, merging to trigger ideas and deep connections between the participants.
tucumana Edition will be no more, because this will be the first to be held in the region and fifth nationally. Undoubtedly that this initiative will be a boost to the region.
